Since 2013

Since the 1987/88 season, the BFU has been collecting data on snow sports accidents in collaboration with Seilbahnen Schweiz SBS. The annual survey of injuries in snowsports is an important source of data on accidents in snowsports. It contains information on the location of the accident and the circumstances of the accident.

Since 2013, the BFU and Seilbahnen Schweiz have been using SchneeGIS, a MAP+-based application. The database includes not only accidents in snow sports but also accidents during summer activities. SchneeGIS not only includes the usual geographical visualization but also extensive tools for the analysis of accidents.
