Quote opendata.ch: Making data public, freely available and usable results in more transparency, innovation and efficiency - that is Open Data.
Since our founding in 1991, one thing has been our top priority: data should be easily accessible and affordable.
As a pioneer in Switzerland, TYDAC began actively processing and providing geographic data at an early stage. Our first datasets included municipal boundaries and related statistical information. We gained national recognition with our analysis of the 1992 EEA referendum (see figure below).
In the years that followed, we continuously expanded our offerings—including our own custom-created ZIP code boundaries. As early as 2002, at our user conference, we were already championing the concept of open data, long before the term had become widely accepted.
This attitude continues to shape us to this day:
We combine data, technology, and expertise—so you can get more out of your geospatial data.
We offer MAP+ as Software as a Service (SaaS) —combined with a key added value: Data as a Service (DaaS). We have named this service NODI: National OpenData Infrastructure.
While SaaS provides access to powerful software, TYDAC takes it a step further: With MAP+, you get software and data seamlessly integrated —without any extra effort on the customer’s part.
You focus on your own data—we'll take care of the rest:
All geographic data is available and ready to use—including:
By combining SaaS and DaaS, you can reduce complexity and save valuable time—from data integration to production use.
MAP+: Your turnkey platform for modern geospatial solutions. For comprehensive information on the DaaS offering, please visit nodi.swiss.
We have compiled an overview of available open data in our Open Data WIKI section.
About the Federal Geodata Infrastructure (BGDI), federal agencies have published some of their data as web services. As of August 2025, there are over 800 services. That’s all well and good, but where can I get an overview, and how can I search for them efficiently? TYDAC has integrated nearly all of these services into a MAP+ application, complete with search functions and legends, and available in four languages: German, French, Italian, and English.
