Who is TYDAC ? At TYDAC we are specialized in the application of
geographic information and spatial analysis in any kind of area. We have
developed a broad client base and expertise in the application of GIS for
forestry, engineering, telecommunications, market analysis, banking, insurance,
administration, education and many more. TYDACs' customers, as per today over
500, include major banks, insurances, retailers, communication and utility
companies, government agencies and a large number of engineering companies.
To guide you in implementing a long term vision for the use of GIS into your
enterprise, we offer introductory consulting and education services that review
your needs and requirements and evaluate how the technology can be integrated
with existing corporate systems. In addition, we have experience in working with
a variety of GIS products and database management systems and we have the skills
to develop customized products. Furthermore we can provide you with a
full suite of geographic data products.
In the last five years we have developed our own product, a Web Application
Framework and Web Mapping Content Management System called Neapoljs (whom this
pages are dedicated to). Neapoljs is available for ESRI ArcIMS, MapInfo
MapXtreme and UMN MapServer.
TYDAC Inc. was founded in February 1991. The company is

has become a quality distinction in Web Mapping.

Welcome to the World of Geography!
The first ones who methodically started to survey and map
their ownership were the ancient Romans. However, as far as we
know, they did not use computers … Today an exciting new
technology called Geographic Information Systems or GIS
brings together the power of computing and the techniques of
geography, cartography and spatial analysis. What are Geographic Information Systems?
Geographic applications on computers have existed almost as
long as computers have existed themselves. Why is it then, that
this technique is unknown to most people? One reason is that in
the first decades of their use, applications in the geographic
area were for the most part very technical and almost
exclusively academic so that the systems were only used by a
tiny crowd of experts. Another reason is that some systems were
(and are) so immensely complicated to use, that no normal human
being could even dream that they could sit at the controls, so
to speak.
What are these Geographic Information Systems (GIS) now? It
is very difficult to find a definition that covers every-thing
that calls itself GIS. It is helpful to reflect on what people
did before computers came to dominate the field. An
encyclopedia, filing cabinet or box of file cards held our
information. An atlas or map chest held locations. Both needed
an index to help find what we were looking for, both fed their
contents into our calculations and evaluations, supported where
appropriate by slide rule or log tables. Properly handled, this
was a GIS - but not one that matched the power, speed,
flexibility, coordination or distribution capability of its
computer-based counterpart. The components however do have their
modern equivalent: Databases and Graphics. GIS is a combination
of the two.
In today’s increasingly dynamic marketplace, companies need
to develop a competitive edge. TYDAC can help you to achieve
that edge by using the power of Geographic Information Systems
(GIS). GIS offers you three advantages to support business
decisions:
-
It can integrate critical information from internal
corporate databases and numerous external data sources in
ways not possible with traditional information systems;
-
You can look at environmental, cadastral, customer,
competitor and marketing data in a highly accessible visual
format, improving your understanding of underlying trends;
-
Through advanced spatial analysis techniques, you can gain
insights into environmental hazards, land ownership,
customer behavior, market conditions, business trends and so
on, which will contribute to your success.

Last not least - TYDAC awarded
several times
Even small companies such as we are, ably compete on the
world market ... TYDAC has been awarded several times over the
last years. We hang the following ‘dust catchers’ on our
walls:
-
ESRI ArcGIS Solution Partner 2002 Germany/Switzerland
-
AGIS GeoAS Best Reseller - 1999/2000
-
FME Best Reseller - 1999
-
MapInfo Outstanding Revenue Achievement Award 1997
-
